Les Wise is an esteemed educator and accomplished Jazz guitarist. Les, along with his wife Linda, are the authors of "The Deliberate Musician" performance development video series.
Pick designer Greg M. Atkin worked with Les Wise to develop the first optimized picking tip shape in the Custom Pro line of picks.
2) Greg M. Atkin Pro Crossover Pick (GMA Pro)
Building on the success of the first LW Pro Crossover design, Greg M. Atkin developed his own signature GMA Pro Crossover Pick design. See second set of photos below.

LW PRO Description
The LW Pro advantage is found in the shape of the pick tip or edge. Notice the unique compound angle of the picks functional edge. In addition, there are two distinct bevels strategically shaped into the picks edge. These two bevels are carved on opposite sides of the pick surface. The bevels facilitate a fast release of the pick from the plucked string.
The picking surface is hand shaped and polished by Crossover Pick developer Greg M. Atkin.
RATIONAL & PICK SPECIFICATIONS
Many players prefer the rounded edge of a common flat pick for strumming and flat picking. However, note articulation while flat picking is limited with the rounded edge. Other players prefer a sharp or medium picking tip to achieve a strong attack, speed and efficiency of movement.
Enabled by the ingenious design of the LW Pro picks compound playing edge, the LW Pro effectively gives the player total dynamic control in one pick. With the LW Pro there is greater dynamic control when a soft touch is desired. At the same time the pointed tips of the pick can still be utilized by shifting the angle of attack. Shift the angle again and a smooth strumming mode is discovered.
Combine the LW Pro custom flat pick with the worlds most comfortable Nylon thumb strap and you truly do have a powerful guitar playing tool. The Nylon strap is fully adjustable on the players thumb. Universal Picking Technique is optimized as the Crossover Pick frees the players first finger.

Note: Choose medium gage (0.8mm), heavy gage (1.0mm) or extra heavy gage (1.2mm). The pick material is Delrin polymer.

GMA PRO Description
The GMA Pro advantage is found in the shape and contour of the pick tip and functional edges.
Notice the broad angle surrounding the single picking tip. The picking tip is relatively sharp to enable efficient alternate picking. In addition, there are two distinct bevels strategically shaped into the picks edge. These two bevels combined with the broad sweeping angle of the pick tip facilitate a fast yet dynamically effective release of the pick from the plucked string.
Note that the picking surface is hand shaped and polished by Crossover Pick developer Greg M. Atkin.
RATIONAL & PICK SPECIFICATIONS
Many players prefer a sharp picking tip for fast and efficient alternate picking. However, dynamic control of strumming techniques are more difficult with the sharp tip and the often seen steep angle leading away from the picks tip. Furthermore, a sharper pick tip requires a well developed and consistent skill to maintain efficient alternate picking.
Enabled by the elegant design of the GMA Pro picks playing edge, the GMA Pro offers the player greater dynamic control of both alternate picking and strumming. Like the LW Pro the GMA Pro Crossover Pick provides greater dynamic control when a soft touch is desired. At the same time the pointed tip of the pick supports optimal speed and note articulation.
Combine the GMA Pro custom flat pick with the worlds most comfortable Nylon thumb strap and you truly do have a powerful guitar playing tool. The Nylon strap is fully adjustable on the players thumb and frees the players first finger. Universal Picking Technique applications are a breeze with the GMA Pro Crossover Pick.

Note: Choose thin gage (0.6mm), medium gage (0.8mm), heavy gage (1.0mm) or extra heavy gage (1.2mm). The pick material is Delrin polymer.
Les Wise Pro - Greg M Atkin Pro - Ron Eschete Pro
I recently purchased the Greg M. Atkin and the Les Wise Pro Crossover Picks from Strum-N-Comfort. The picks are a modification of the popular Kodiak pick.
The Les Wise Pro pick has a unique compound angle with two distinct bevels on the edge for a smooth release. The shape of the pick produces a warm tone and works very well for strumming or playing as one would with a flat pick. This pick has a great dynamic range to it and one can strum lightly with it if desired.
The Greg M. Atkin Pro pick is similar to the L.W. pick but offers a little more point for using as a flat pick. Again, this pick has a very warm tone but has the advantage of a little more "bite" with the point. This pick is also beveled and has a smooth release.
Either pick would be a good choice for the finger style player who likes to play single lines in the mix. I found both picks to feel natural as a traditional thumb pick and with a short amount of time I could use them comfortably as a flat pick. I expect to gain facility over the next few weeks of practice.
I also purchased the Ron Eschete Pro Crossover pick. This pick is based on the original Strum-N-Comfort pick design. The pick engages the sleeve with a more forward angle allowing for a smooth up stroke and release of the pick. I could say more but the best endorsement would be to view the great Ron Eschete on YouTube performing with it!
I have been using Strum-N-Comfort picks for several years and I have seen Mr. Atkin improve his products and I highly recommend them!
